Voting Period Begins Monday, March 6, 2017 For Woodside Elementary School District April 4, 2017 Special Election

Voting Center open and Vote by Mail ballots mailed


(Redwood City, CA) Mark Church, San Mateo County’s Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder, announced that the voting period for the April 4, 2017 Woodside Elementary School District Special Election will begin March 6, 2017.

“As a convenience to voters during the early voting period, eligible voters from any precinct in the school district may come to our Voting Center to cast a ballot or drop off a voted mail ballot,” Mr. Church stated. “The voter may choose to vote using the eSlate electronic voting machine or on a paper ballot.”

The Voting Center, located at the Registration & Elections Division office at 40 Tower Road, San Mateo, will be open from March 6 through April 3 on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Election Day, April 4, the Voting Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. As this is an all-mailed ballot election, no polling places will be open on Election Day.

March 6 also marks the first day that Vote by Mail Ballots and Voter Information Guides will be sent out to all registered voters in the school district. The date voters receive their ballot depends on local mail delivery service. If a voter has not received their ballot by March 15, he or she should contact the Registration & Elections Division. March 20 is also the last day to register to vote in this election.

Voters are encouraged to use the “Track and Confirm” tool on shapethefuture.org to verify when ballot materials were mailed and when the Registration & Elections Division received their voted ballot.

The Town Hall in Woodside will have ballot drop-off boxes available during their business hours during the voting period. Mailed ballots can only be accepted if they are postmarked on or before Election Day and received by Friday, April 7, 2017. On Election Day, voted mail ballots may be dropped off until 8:00 p.m. at the Voting Center or Woodside Town Hall.
