Student Poll Worker Program
Apply to Join democracyLIVE!
The democracyLIVE! program provides opportunities for high school students to work at the polls on Election Day and to experience our democracy firsthand in their own community. Participants will be trained to work at the polls, serve as a member of a Precinct Board, earn community service credits (check with your school), earn money and have the chance to be a part of a special team on Election Day.
If you're interested, please complete the application below and turn it in to your School Coordinator. We are working directly with the School Coordinators to make sure that those who are eligible and interested are properly trained before Election Day and assigned to a precinct near your home.
We are unable to take applications from high school students online because original signatures are required on the forms that grant your permission in the program. You may get the application form from your School Coordinator or download and print this application form.
The deadline to apply for the democracyLIVE! Program for the November 7, 2017 Consolidated Municipal, School and Special District Election is Friday, September 15th. Students interested in applying past the deadline are encouraged to contact our office.
Very Important Steps:
- Review the minimum qualifications for participation in the program (these are required by law). Your school may have specific rules for participants as well. Check with your school coordinator.
- Make sure your completed application is signed by your parent/guardian and your teachers.
- Turn the application in by September 15th. Give it to your School Coordinator.
If you have any questions regarding this program, please feel free to contact thedemocracyLIVE! Coordinator by email.
