Governor Schwarzenegger Sets Special Election for Congressional Vacancy

Sacramento, California - Governor Schwarzenegger issued the following proclamation today, declaring June 3, 2008 the date for a special election in California's 12th Congressional District (most of San Mateo County and a portion of San Francisco County), to elect a congressional representative to fill the vacancy created by the death of Congressman Thomas P. Lantos:
SPECIAL ELECTION PROCLAMATION
BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
I, ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER, Governor of the State of California, do hereby proclaim and order that a special election shall be held on the 3rd day of June, 2008 within the 12th Congressional District of the State to fill the vacancy in the office of the Member of Congress from said district resulting from the death of Tom Lantos.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of California to be affixed this 12th day of February, 2008.
