Media Advisory: Drawing Tomorrow for June 3 Local Measures
Letter assignment for local measures on June 3 ballot at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13

Redwood City, CA – The random drawing for assigning letters to the local measures that will appear on the June 3 Statewide Direct Primary ballot will be held Thursday, March 13 at 11 a.m. at the Elections Office at 40 Tower Road in San Mateo.

Elections officials will draw letters out of a hat to determine the letter assigned to represent each measure and the order of their placement on the ballot. Four local ballot measures are expected, though jurisdictions have until 5 p.m. today to amend or withdraw them.

The public and media are invited to observe the drawing.

Elections registrars all over California will hold similar drawings at the same time. The Secretary of State will also conduct a random alphabet drawing to determine the order of candidates appearing on the ballot for the June 3 Statewide Direct Primary.
