Contact: Aternate: Vote on Saturday! Elections Office Opening Doors for Early Primary Voting Redwood City, CA –Redwood City, CA - The San Mateo County Elections Office will open its doors on Saturday, Jan. 26 and Saturday, Feb. 2 for early voting for the Presidential Primary Election, making voting more convenient and allowing voters to avoid the anticipated Tsunami Tuesday crowds. “We know that people have busy lives or vacations planned, and sometimes a Saturday is a more convenient day to vote than a Tuesday,” said San Mateo County Chief Elections Officer Warren Slocum. “We also expect a high turnout at the polls on Feb. 5, and Saturday voting will give voters a chance to beat the crowds and ease worries about traffic, parking or making it to the polls on time.” Voters can also use the Saturday hours to request a Vote by Mail ballot or make their ballot choice for the Democratic or American Independent party known if they are a Decline-to-State, Vote by Mail voter (the deadline for making either of these requests by mail or fax is Jan. 29). The Elections Office is normally open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Early voting may also be conducted at any time during business hours at either location through Feb. 5. |
