Contact: Aternate: Voter Registration Reminder for San Mateo County Residents Deadline is Monday, October 22nd (Redwood City, CA) With the voter registration deadline less than a week away, Warren Slocum , San Mateo County’s Chief Elections Officer, issued a reminder to San Mateo County residents wishing to vote during the upcoming Consolidated Municipal, School and Special District Election on November 6th that they must re-register if they have changed their residence address, their name, or their political party affiliation. “Every election cycle, we work very hard to get the word out,” Slocum stated, “It is very important that voters keep their registration information current by filling out and submitting a new voter registration form to reflect any change in address, name, or political party affiliation.” “If you are not sure whether you are registered or not or what your party affiliation is, you may go to the homepage of the elections web site, www.shapethefuture.org and click on the Voter’s Toolkit and select the link, “Check your voter registration status,” added Slocum. Given this late date, Slocum recommends that new voters and voters wishing to re-register should pick up a registration form from the Elections Offices at 40 Tower Road in San Mateo and 555 County Center, 1st Floor in Redwood City or go to any post office, city hall, or public library as they carry forms, too. |
