Contact: lternate: Public Review Period Opens (Redwood City, CA) Chief Elections Officer Warren Slocum announced that the 10-calendar-day public review period for documents filed as of August 15, 2007. The documents include candidate statements, resolutions, ordinances, amendments, tax rate statements and declarations filed during the extended nomination period. This review period will end on August 27, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. (August 25th, the tenth day of the review period falls on a Saturday, so the deadline is moved to the next business day). During the 10-day public examination period, any voter of the jurisdiction in which the election is being held or the county elections official may seek a writ of mandate or an injunction requiring any or all of the materials to be amended or deleted. The writ of mandate or injunction request shall be filed no later than the end of the examination period. Primary arguments for or against local ballot measures must be filed by 5:00 p.m. on August 17th and rebuttal arguments are due by 5:00 p.m. on August 27th.
