Election Cycle Continues into 2007
Las Lomitas Elementary School District places measure on March 6, 2007 ballot. Primary Arguments For and Against must be submitted by December 15, 2006.
(Redwood City) – Just days after certifying the results for the watershed November 2006 Gubernatorial Election, Elections Officials in San Mateo County were hard at work preparing for the upcoming special election on March 6, 2007. The Las Lomitas Elementary School District filed a resolution calling a special election for March 6th on parcel tax measure.
Warren Slocum, San Mateo County’s Chief Elections Officer, stated that his staff is ready to move ahead after implementing a new voting system in the November Election. “The 2007 election cycle will be a great opportunity to continue to move forward with our new voting system and build on the success we experienced in November.”
The first major deadline for the March 6, 2007 election is the submission of Primary Arguments For and Against Ballot Measures. Arguments must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on December 15, 2006. Arguments must be filed with the County Elections Office at 40 Tower Road in San Mateo.
Slocum also announced that the 10-calendar-day public review period set by law to allow voters to review information submitted to the County of San Mateo to be printed in the voter information pamphlet at the March 6, 2007 Special Election began Friday, December 8th at 5:00 p.m. This review period will end Monday, December 18, 2006 at 5:00 p.m.
