REDWOOD CITY, CA—“Voting in the June Gubernatorial Primary Election begins Monday, May 8th,” announced Warren Slocum, San Mateo County’s Chief Elections Officer. By law, voters may begin casting ballots 29 days in advance of an election. “Some voters will just be receiving the Sample Ballot & Official Voter Information Pamphlet in the mail this week.” The Sample Ballot is mailed on a rolling schedule that began May 1st and will continue for the following 30 days. The schedule is driven by printing and sending the largest common-style groups of sample ballots first, in order to reach the greatest number of voters as early as possible. “Walk-in absentee voting, voting on the accessible eSlate voting devices and ballot drop-off service will begin Monday morning at the Elections Offices,” said Warren Slocum, Chief Elections Officer for San Mateo County. The offices are located at 40 Tower Road in San Mateo and or in the main Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder set up on the first floor of 555 County Center in Redwood City. “The County Sample Ballot is available on audio tape upon request for the visually impaired. We intend to make voting as accessible as possible so that everyone has a voice in the democratic process,” said Slocum. “All election materials are available in English, Spanish and Chinese to make election information accessible to our diverse community of voters.” For more election information about the June Gubernatorial Primary Election, go to www.shapethefuture.org.
