Write-In Candidate Filing Now Open

REDWOOD CITY, CA— Warren Slocum, San Mateo County’s Chief Elections Officer, announced today the opening of the filing period for write-in candidates for offices appearing on the June 6, 2006 ballot.

Eligible persons desiring to declare write-in candidacy for federal, state, and local offices may file nomination documents with the Elections Office at 40 Tower Road, San Mateo, between Monday, April 10, 2006 and 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 23, 2006.  Please call the Filing Officer at (650) 312-5370 to schedule an appointment.
