Candidate Filing Extension Ends Today.

No changes or additions to local races.

REDWOOD CITY, CA—Chief Elections Officer Warren Slocum announced today that the extended nomination period for certain offices set to appear on the June 6, 2006 Gubernatorial Primary Election ballot ended today at 5 p.m.

The roster of candidates remains unchanged – no new candidates filed in San Mateo County during the extended filing period. The regular candidate filing period closed on Friday, March 10th, however State law provides and extension of five calendar days if an eligible incumbent fails to file or does not qualify during the regular period.

Slocum also announced that the 10-calendar-day public review period for documents filed as of March 15, 2006 will begin today, at 5:00 P.M. This includes candidate statements and other paperwork filed by candidates whose deadline was extended. This review period will end Monday, March 27, 2005 at 5:00 P.M.

Primary arguments for or against local ballot measures must be filed by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2006, and rebuttal arguments are due by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 27, 2006.
