Peninsula TV26 Covers State and Local Election Results Live on Election Night "Decision 2005" will cover state, county, city, school and special district races affecting San Mateo County residents.
San Carlos, CA, October 21, 2005: Peninsula TV26 (Ch. 27 on RCN) will be airing a 4-hour live election night program from the Foster City Council Chambers from 8 PM to 12 midnight on Election Night, November 8, 2005.
The show is co-sponsored by Comcast and the San Mateo County Elections Office, and will be co-hosted by Mark Simon and Bob Marks and will also include results and interviews by Peninsula TV personalities, Kevin Mullin and Dani Gasparini. Pen TV will provide the most up-to-date local results throughout the night and will be focusing on state ballot measures and key city council races. Interviews will be done live, by satellite hook-up and by phone.
Guests expected to appear on the show will include Warren Slocum (Chief Elections Officer), Dan Schnur (former Communications Director, McCain For President), Carla Marinucci (SF Chronicle Chief Political Writer), John Diaz (SF Chronicle Editorial Page Editor), Joe Cotchett (Attorney), Mike Nevin (Former County Supervisor), Bill Whalen (Republican Strategist), Jerry Hill (San Mateo County Supervisor), Joe Galligan (Burlingame Mayor), Roseanne Foust (Redwood City Council member), Don Eaton (San Carlos Council member), John Lee (San Mateo Council member), Sue Lempert (San Mateo Council member) and other local officials, candidates, and political analysts.
This is the second year that Pen TV will cover live Peninsula election results along with analysis of statewide ballot measure. "This is a great resource for County residents to track results of local races on Election Night. We will be receiving live election results directly from the County Elections Office as the night progresses. No other news source in the Bay Area will be covering San Mateo County races as thoroughly as Pen TV," says Co-Host and Peninsula TV Director, Bob Marks.
"We received an overwhelming response from the community from last year's show," said Co-Host Mark Simon. "People in San Mateo County are looking for coverage of the issues that affect them. Cable subscribers throughout San Mateo County can view the live broadcast on Cable Channel 26 (channel 27 for RCN subscribers) starting at 8 PM.
Pen TV is currently airing several city council candidate forums as well as individual interviews that are being shown on Pen TV Community News at 7 AM, noon, 7 PM, and midnight.
