"DECISION MAKERS GUIDE" 2005
The Absolutely Essential Guide to Reaching Your Elected Representatives

Redwood City, CA – The 2005 edition of "Decision Makers: A Guide to the Elected Officials of San Mateo County" is now available from the San Mateo County Elections Office. Easy viewing, printable downloads, and active links are available in the online version at www.shapethefuture.org, and printed booklets are available, while supplies last, at the Elections Office.

"Reaching every level of leadership in this county just got easier," said Warren Slocum, Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder. "They’re just a click away."

Slocum recalled the immortal words the of former Speaker of the House, Tip O’Neill, that "All politics is local."

"San Mateo County’s electorate is highly engaged and its leaders reach out to identify and serve community needs. You need look no further than the record-breaking turnout for the last presidential election to see why I am very proud to oversee election processes in this community," said Slocum.

The Decision Makers Guide provides a convenient gateway between county voters and their elected representatives. For every elected official — from your local recreation district to the President of the United States — you will find contact information, gender, term date, party affiliation, and brief highlights of the character and jurisdiction of each district. The first section is organized by district, and the second section lists all officials by name, to quickly identify their district, office, and term date.

"I encourage everyone to go to our website and bookmark the Guide in your Favorites folder," said Slocum. "Take advantage of the active links to email, maps to district offices, and district websites. Your representatives need and want to hear from you."

To obtain the printed version of the Decision Makers Guide 2005, call the San Mateo County Elections Office at 650.312.5222 or email to registrar@smcare.org.
