Write-In Candidate Filing Closes

Redwood City - Warren Slocum , San Mateo County's Chief Election s Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder, announced that the write –in candidate filing period that began on September 7, 2004 for offices scheduled at the November 2, 2004 Presidential General Election closed today, Tuesday, October 19 at 5 PM.

There were zero write-in candidates for the offices on the November 2 nd ballot that file with the County Elections Office. Those offices include Harbor Commissioner, County Board of Education , School District Offices, and Special District Offices.

The write-in period for Electors for President also ended on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 . Interested voters should visit the Secretary of State’s web site at www.SOS.ca.gov, or call 1-800-345-VOTE for general election information or an official list of presidential write-in nominees.

Write-in candidates for city offices must file with the City Clerk. You may contact the City Clerk directly to inquire about write-in candidates in that city.
