Elections Office Extends Hours for the Monday, October 18th

Voter Registration Deadline

Redwood City, CA - Monday, October 18th, is the last day to register to vote in the upcoming 2004 Presidential General Election.   To facilitate voter registration, Warren Slocum, Chief Elections Officer for San Mateo County, has extended the hours of operation at both the 40 Tower Road office in San Mateo and 555 County Center, 1 st Floor office in Redwood City.   “Our offices will remain open until 8:00 p.m. to receive affidavits of registration,” said Slocum. “This is the last call for voter registration.   All citizens, 18 years old by November 2 nd are invited to come down to the office and register to vote. Two staff members will be on hand to assist voters.”

Slocum went on to explain that, “Technically, citizens may register to vote until midnight on October 18 th as long as the postmark is date stamped October 18 th   AND the registration form is received by the San Mateo County Elections Department by November 2, 2004.


You may register to vote in person today until 8:00 pm at either county election office:

Assessor, County Clerk, Recorder and Election offices
555 County Center, First Floor

Going South on US-101:
Take the Whipple Ave Exit.
Continue straight going south on Veterans Blvd.
Turn right onto Middlefield Road. We'll be on your right.
Our office is in the corner of Middlefield Road and Bradford Street.
Metered parking is available on the first floor of the County Government Center Garage and in front of the 555 County Center building.

Going North on US-101:
Take the Woodside Road Exit.
Turn right onto Veterans Blvd.
Turn left onto Middlefield Road. We'll be on your right.
Our office is in the corner of Middlefield Road and Bradford Street.

Driving Directions to the Elections Office – 40 Tower Road

Going South on US-101:
Take the Hwy 92 West exit towards Half Moon Bay.
Take the Ralston Ave exit.
Turn right onto Ralston Ave.
Ralston Ave becomes Polhemus Road.
Turn left onto Tower Road and immediately turn left to the Elections office.

Going North on US-101:
Take the Hwy 92 West exit towards Half Moon Bay.
Take the Ralston Ave exit.
Turn right onto Ralston Ave.
Ralston Ave becomes Polhemus Road.
Turn left onto Tower Road and immediately turn left to the Elections office.

Going North on I-280:
Take the CA 92 East exit towards San Mateo/Hayward.
Take the Ralston Ave exit towards Belmont.
Turn right onto Ralston Ave.
Ralston Ave becomes Polhemus Road.
Turn left onto Tower Road and immediately turn left to the Elections office.

Going South on I-280:
Take the CA 92 East exit towards San Mateo/Hayward
Take the Ralston Ave exit towards Belmont.
Turn right onto Ralston Ave.
