Redwood City, CA - Monday,
October 18th, is the last day to register to vote in the upcoming
2004 Presidential General Election. To facilitate voter
registration, Warren Slocum, Chief Elections Officer for San
Mateo County, has extended the hours of operation at both
the 40 Tower Road office in San Mateo and 555 County Center,
1 st Floor office in Redwood City. “Our offices will
remain open until 8:00 p.m. to receive affidavits of registration,” said Slocum. “This
is the last call for voter registration. All citizens,
18 years old by November 2 nd are invited to come down to
the office and register to vote. Two staff members will be
on hand to assist voters.”
Slocum
went on to explain that, “Technically, citizens may register
to vote until midnight on October 18 th as long as the postmark
is date stamped October 18 th AND the registration
form is received by the San Mateo County Elections Department
by November 2, 2004.
You may register to vote in person today until 8:00 pm at either county election office:
