REDWOOD CITY, CA - Chief Elections Officer Warren Slocum announced today that the extended nomination period for certain offices set to appear on the November 2, 2004 Presidential General Election ended today at 5 P.M.
The regular candidate filing period for the various offices on the November 2, 2004 ballot closed on Friday, August 6 th, however State law provides and extension of five (5) calendar days if the incumbent fails to file or qualify during the regular period.
Slocum also announced that the 10-calendar-day public review periods set by law to allow voters to review information submitted to the County of San Mateo to be printed in the voter information pamphlet at the November 2, 2004 Presidential General Election will begin today, August 11 th at 5:00 P.M. for all documents filed as of the 83 rd day prior to the scheduled election. This includes candidate statements submitted during the extended filing period. This review period will end Monday, August 23, 2004 at 5:00 P.M.
Primary arguments for or against qualified ballot measures are due filed by 5:00 P.M. on Friday, August 13, 2004, and rebuttal arguments are due filed by 5:00 P.M. on Monday, August 23, 2004.
