Do you have a few hours or an entire day to spare to help your local Elections Office to carry out its most important mission to conduct the Statewide Direct Primary Election on June 3? Take advantage of this unique opportunity to contribute to our democracy and help ensure the integrity of the vote.
We’re seeking paid help from members of our community – that’s you! – to fulfill some very important Election Day roles that will ensure our elections are accurate and secure, and that our polling places and electronic voting machines, or eSlates, are running in tiptop shape. The requirements are minimal, the training convenient, and the money competitive.

Poll Worker
2,000 Poll Workers are needed each election |

Serve as a member of a Precinct Board that is staffed with one Inspector (the poll worker in charge) and two or more Judges (the official name of a poll worker) who ensure the integrity of the election process at their assigned precinct. Duties include:

Poll Opening/Closing Technicians(POCTs)
100 POCTs are needed each election |

Help poll workers with the opening and closing procedures. Each Poll Opening/Closing Technician is assigned three polling places to provide morning and evening assistance. Polls have to be ready for business by 7 a.m.; the polls close at 8 p.m. POCTs provide an extra hand to ensure a smooth process. |
$20/hr.,
plus mileage reimbursement on Election Day.

Ride-Along Coordinators (RACs)
75 RACs are needed each election |

Provide administrative support to our Field Technicians, who respond to calls for eSlate technical help. As a Ride-Along Coordinator, you will be:

Fielding calls for help from poll workers |

Logging and reporting incidents |
| • |
Ensuring adherence to the two-man rule for the secure custody of spare ballots and eSlate equipment in the Field Technician’s vehicle |

Communications Training Class

Field Tech
75 Field Techs are needed each election |
5:00 a.m.
to
10:30 p.m. |
Field Techs are the eyes, ears and direct providers of assistance to the polling places. Former polling place Inspectors and Judges make good Field Techs because they understand the responsibilities of poll workers. Duties include:

Visiting assigned polling places to provide support |

Relaying requests to the Elections Office |
| • |
Troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues |
| • |
Advising election officials of unusual circumstances at the polls like electioneering or unexpected situations like power outages |
Field Techs are provided equipment, cell phones, forms, and supplies. Techs use their own vehicle, however, special arrangements can be made upon request. |
$20/hr.
